Following the ABC Four Corners investigation, Doing Density Better says Australia's increasing reliance on private developers and investors to deliver affordable housing is not working for the people who most need secure and genuinely affordable homes. The alliance is calling for an independent public inquiry into the delivery and regulation of affordable housing in NSW.
A growing alliance of NSW community action groups, whose members come from communities of more than half a million people, launched Doing Density Better at NSW Parliament House. The launch, titled Getting Our House in Order, brought together community representatives, planning advocates and expert speakers to advocate for genuinely affordable housing and better-planned communities.
